For the peace & safety of all
Welcome to Wollongong Friends of Palestine!
We are a community group who stand for the freedom and peace of the people of Palestine.
We advocate for a cessation of of illegal occupation, return of stolen land, autonomy over their water, electricity, airspace, telecommunications, and basic human rights.
International law demands an end to our government’s illegal involvement in the arms trade with israel, and an end to the decades of oppression that the people of Palestine have faced.
Our vision is a Palestine free from apartheid, where all its Christian, Muslim, and Jewish peoples can live together in peace and safety with respect for the land as they once did.

What We Do:
Community Rallies
We gather fortnightly in Crown Street Mall, hearing updates regarding the ongoing genocide in Palestine, government responses, local business complicity, as well as speeches from community leaders, councillors, Palestinian locals, and Jewish friends.
Local Government Interaction
Our members have spoken at events both locally and in Canberra regarding Australia’s flagrant violations of international law and complicity in war crimes.
Building a Safe Space
Wollongong Friends of Palestine strives to be a safe space where people of all faiths, nationalities, cultures and walks of life who respect others can gather together in support of peace and humanity, and feel safe, respected, and valid.
Sharing Culture
We have held various community gatherings sharing cultural exchanges of food, music, poetry, art, and stories.

Community Pickets
In an effort to end the Illawarra’s involvement in genocide and breaches of international laws, Wollongong Friends of Palestine has held several community pickets of Bisalloy Steels, a local company who supplies armoured steel to the israeli occupying force for use in illegal forced displacement and war crimes.
Come along to our next picket, and help end Australia’s involvement in genocide!

Wollongong Friends of Palestine pays our respects to the Dharawal & Yuin People, on whose land we live and operate. We extend our respect to all indigenous people, and elders past, present, and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded.
